I saw the title of some pay-per-view porn listed on the program guide the other night. There was one entitled “Daughter Swap”. The fact that this even exists completely ruined my night. My father was never abusive or sleazy. But I’ve known my share of disgusting creeps ever since I can remember.

I think that’s what the poster is saying, that she does try to impart these values to her children, that she does speak up. I may be assuming too much, but honestly, what more can be expected? Peaceful protest? Apparently that doesn’t work. Violent protests? “Black people have been screaming about this since since Rodney King, and nothing has changed, NOTHING.” The best way to go now is EXPOSURE. Keep those cameras going. (I know another poster mentioned this) There are still a lot of people who think this is a remote issue or these are rare occurrences. They only see the “horrifying portrayal” their news network is feeding them. These people also vote. We are on a small scale, but we can make some impact if people are forced to see the reality.

I was watching A Teacher on Hulu and it had a warning "Depictions of Grooming" and I didn't know what that meant. So, I looked it up and was instantly triggered. That's happened to me (not by a teacher, but various different men throughout my life- especially as a pre-teen by a man in his twenties) and I never even realized that it was a thing. I thought it was normal. I thought it was just part of being a girl. It happened to a boy in the show, but still it just REALLY hit home. I can't even count how many times I've been groped by strange men and had them treat me like an object, talking about parts of my body while I'm sitting right there. Like I'm not even a person.

I've been assaulted so many times that at various points throughout my life, I realised something ELSE that happened to me that was assault that I hadn't even considered assault before. The latest one I remembered was a guy forcing my head down on him. How I didn't see that as assault for decades is mind boggling to me, I never think about that incident, recently I saw the guy online and it came to mind. I'm not sure I can count everything that happened to me that is sexual assault on all my fingers, and I'm a total introvert and homebody, it makes me wonder how many more incidents your average woman who is more social might have. I think the saddest thing about it is that I have such a blase response because it's happened so. many. fucking. times.

The other day I read on Twitter "If you think none of the women in your life have been sexually assaulted because they've never told you about it, it's because they don't feel safe enough with you to tell you."

The fact that so many people are calling Claudia Conway an attention seeking teen for posting her mother's abuse just honestly underlines what I already knew. The right wing is anti human. They don't want to protect women, PoCs, or the LGBTQ+. Why is it surprising that they don't want to protect children and don't think what is happening is abusive, even after a topless photo of a CHILD got posted and none of her other info was released even though Kellyanne claims she was hacked. What a nasty, vindictive bitch. If I hear anyone in my life repeat the line that this abused child is an attention seeker, I am immediately cutting them out of my life. I won't support victim blaming and I won't support anyone who thinks abusing a child is okay.

The Americans who are largely against those things are just racist, misogynist assholes. Largely male and almost entirely white, they want to keep marginalized groups poor. If they give them a living wage, healthcare, childcare, etc. then that gives them opportunities to better their life and get out of poverty. And that threatens their privilege. They know damn well there are plenty of women and POC who are smarter, more talented, and harder workers than they'll ever be. If they actually had to compete with them, they would lose. They have no problem giving money to billionaires to help them out, because they are mostly white guys too, so they see it as helping their own, even if they, themselves, live in a run down trailer. But ask them to help out the black, single mother with cancer and they'll say she just needs to pull herself up by the bootstraps and stop buying Starbucks.

I've known this for years as an outsider, but it is actually totally wild to watch poor Americans argue against things which would improve their life no end...raising the minimum wage to a living standard, massive taxes on the very rich, rent control, "socialized" medicine. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I've watched so many handwringing videos about millennials not having babies. I know this is a Western world problem, birth rates dropping everywhere here and also dropping fast in places that previously had high rates like India, but you guys don't even mandate maternity leave. I'm friends with a couple I met while visiting and they actually left their jobs so they could afford to have a baby because staying in work made it too expensive. That is absolutely crazy. People shouldn't have to fucking pay to have a child, raising them is expensive and difficult enough as it is.

I just blocked several people on fb. Don't laugh at memes from the Capitol riot that show assholes carrying swastika flags, and then post Jesus shit, telling me to forgive and move on. These people need to get their hateful heads on straight. I can't handle this crazy, hateful, racist, antisemitic shit anything.

The Q crowd is imploding. Martial law (or Marshall as they tend to spell it) didn't happen. Trump is gone. They got played. Cry me a river. Just hope these psychos don't take it out on innocent people.
