Every time I get comfortable, "are you sure you made the right decision?" No! Thanks for reminding me of my existential guilt from keeping the kids out of school and away from people for the last 6 months! Thank you. I forgot momentarily that I've probably ruined their lives by trying to keep them from catching COVID before there is a treatment or at least an understanding of the effects. Thanks. Going to go wallow in my guilt again.

My DD12 is just too smart for her own good. Her grades are crap, except math. But she thinks outside the box, her way of thinking and problem solving is genius. I'm tech savvy, she gets it from me, I figured out how to hack in my teens. During DDs classes, she was playing online instead of doing her work. So I went into the background and blocked her from being to access pretty much anything other than school stuff. In half a day she was able to figure out how to bypass it. She had 2 extra bypasses set up in case I was able to find one. I disabled them and blocked her from being able to reuse them, but it won't stop her from figuring out other ways. I work from home but I can't watch her the whole time. I check in on her but she always looks like she's doing school work. In a sense I'm proud, but very irritated. With all the stress she's putting me through with this, she better end up making good $$ hacking for the government or something.

Why do people decide to get pregnant when they know it's like, the worst possible timing ever? Spouse lost a job, rent just went up, they have no savings, and they just had to buy a different car, but yep...have another kid. That makes total sense.

This whole thread is a great example of generational misogyny/bigotry. We learn SO young that girls and gay people are inferior. And it's done so causally, we don't even question it until we're older.

Oh, I got a great one.. I was once told by an elderly uncle of my DH that my son was going to be gay because..... he was born on Valentine's Day.. Smh at the stupidity. His uncle is an 85 y. o. douche canoe.

My 12 year old nephew is a total boy. Loves sports, music, video games, etc. When he was 4-5 years old, he had dolls and loved to paint his nails with us. It doesn't mean anything at that age...they just want to do the things their moms and sisters and aunts and grandmas do. I can't stand it when people freak out about kids at that age...just let them be weird, unique, curious little kids. They are just trying to learn about things.

Just had my first pregnant hormonal cry. I cried because once again my 3yr old won't eat his dinner, I just had enough and told him to go to bed without. I made him a slice of toast just so his stomach wouldn't be empty, I know my MIL was judging me because she makes it a big deal by asking him what he wants to eat, babies him by spoonfeeding him or making him something he wants (junk food stuff) instead of telling him to eat what is there. I don't care though. He does this for attention and the advice I was given by the Dr is that skipping a meal won't kill him. I just couldn't help going into my room and feeling just everything piling on me. The stress of being furloughed, being pregnant with my third and dealing with my kid just got too much and I had to cry.

omg I could have posted this. My ds4 loves rainbows and he just recently became a model for a local agency and my mom told me I'm either going to make him gay or he'll be trafficked. Like there isn't enough to worry about with kids, let's create false scenarios. Smh.

My preschool-aged sons fight. Like fight, fight and I will separate them from each other and they started crying they wanted to play together. I took one to take his nap and the other one went to play with playdough. The one who had his nap started crying for his brother. Is this normal?

My 4-year old son likes his nails painted. He saw some cool blue-purple I was painting on my toes and wanted to try. Sure, what the heck. He's been good with homeschool and should get a treat. I painted them. When my mom saw them she FLIPPED. She said I was making him a girl. Whatever. I'm not the parent who lets their 14 year old son drink to the point of throwing up at a family party but-hey, let's call attention to my son's nails.
