I was grocery shopping and saw a boy (probably 8yo?) with his mom and she asked him if he wanted some chicken nuggets and he said "No, those will cost you too much money. I don't need them". I was like, super amazed that a kid that young would care about something like that. The mom quickly said "No it's okay; it's food so we can buy it". I wonder if she lost her job or something recently...I remember as a kid being pretty aware of money when my dad had gotten laid off.

I get that. I like my kids, but they're definitely more fun once they're older. I being the resident babysitter just bc I'm the only one with older kids. I can't stand other people's kids. Lol.

I don't think things little kids say are cute. Most of the stuff they say is either dumb to me or just annoying. It makes it hard for me to interact with my nieces and nephews because I just get bored and annoyed with them. My older nephews and nieces are 100% easier for me to interact with. I've always found kids annoying-even when I was a kid myself. I guess it's a big part of why I don't have them myself. Just don't expect me to laugh and say "aww!" when you tell me some stupid thing your toddler said.

After nearly 6 months of isolation. DS started hanging out with a select group of friends. They all work together. All their parents work from home now, and they only hang out at one kid's house, and in the basement. His dad, my husband and I are all okay with this, but DS' stepmom is FURIOUS. Screaming that if DS brings COVID into their house, she'll be pissed. Meanwhile...she's going out to eat all the time with her friends, goes shopping at the mall, and babysits the neighbor's kids in their house. The mom is a NURSE. Who's putting themselves more at risk? Talk about hypocritical!

So this one was mine. One of the bullshit theories my son was spouting off to me is that covid is a hoax, or else someone we know would have had it by now. (We live in the middle of nowhere). Welp, his grandfather (my XFIL) was just diagnosed with it, with mild symptoms. He and DS work together in a family business and I just saw my son last weekend and gave him a hug. I can't believe this. I'm off to google early warning signs. My kid might not get sick from this virus, but I'm betting I would, and my DH too. Not to mention our elderly neighbor that we take care of and help out regularly. Jesus H. Christ in a sidecar.

I don't know where to post this confession. My kids are grown. I'm just depressed. I can't find joy in anything. I had a hysterectomy Oct 1st. My doctor put me off work until 11/12. I'm ok being at home and dread going back to work. My boyfriend thinks if I go back to work my mental health will be better. So many things on my mind. I don't know what to do. All I want to do is run away. I'm on antidepressants, but they don't seem to be working. My mom just found out she has breast cancer. I'm going through a divorce after 28 of marriage. We've been separated since 8/17. I live 30 minutes to an hour away from my loved ones. I'm just tired.

Family is still having their party. I'm not going, not just because of the pandemic but honestly-I hate going to these damn things. It's the same screaming over each other and awkwardness. Not to mention the damn White Elephant game that takes forever.

I suspect that both of our kids are Trumpublicans (LOVE that word btw!). Our son posts right wing nut shit on facebook all the time. I'd also bet that neither of them are even registered to vote (they're in their 40's). Their bio mom was on the dole all her life then decided that Dems were crazy and started spouting anti-everyone crap. I once told our son that if he didn't vote he doesn't have the right to bitch and that shut him up.

My confession is that I think my son might have voted for the cheeto. He's been spending a lot of time hanging out with one of his friends who's a trumpublican, and this weekend he came over and ranted a few conspiracy theories to me. I was so upset, I actually told him I was tired and wanted to go to bed and maybe he should go. It was 7pm. I will never ever ask him who he voted for. I don't want to know. I haven't told a single soul about this, it's too upsetting.

I'm actually more angry that my family is still having theirs and trying to guilt me into spending 12 HOURS in the same room with all 20 of them bc my mom can never just be reasonable.
