My brother showed up at my Dad's the other day, unannounced. He said his apartment was unlivable. He hired a woman to clean top to bottom and took Dad out. In 5.5 hours she did seven loads of laundry, attempted to do dishes, but the maggots gagged her, needed a scraper to clean the filth off the floors before she could scrub them, and took 17 bags of trash out. 650 square feet of absolute filth! We're telling him tomorrow that he's going to an assisted living facility. He lost his house to reverse mortgage and left it unsellable due to the filth and now this. It's not a physical thing....it's a mental thing!

My 1st child was a girl. I thought we'd be so close and it would be easy because I was raised mostly with my mom and sister. The 3 of us are close. I couldn't be more wrong. My 2nd child was a boy and I was so scared I wouldn't know what to do with a boy. Him/20 years old and I are super close, and dd/30 and her dad are close. She's opinionated and always has to be right. She's also driven, hardworking, organized and clean, smart, pretty, thoughtful. My son is quiet, shy, a joker, lazy, not organized, sweet and loving. Ya never know! But I love them both dearly. :)

There is absolutely nothing sweeter on the planet than reading to my little 4 yo granddaughter until she falls asleep in my lap. OMG I love her so much. She's just the most precious creature on planet earth.

I had a sleepover visit with DGD4 this weekend, and I took her with me to the grocery store. I cut a little mask out of a pair of pants that she'd outgrown and off we went. You wouldn't believe how many little old people wouldn't stay away from her. This one man literally tried to touch her several times. Yes, she's a beautiful child and she's pretty irresistible, but DUDE! There's a pandemic! Leave us alone! We were just trying to buy some ice cream and birthday balloons for her dad. Little old man assumed she was mine, and I couldn't help but be amused at the look I got when she said, "It's Daddy's birthday!" and when LOM asked how old daddy was, I looked him right in the eye and said, "He's 26." Because I am CLEARLY not 26. LOL. Leave us be, people. She can charm your socks off after the pandemic.

'm organizing a baby shower at work. For one of the games, I'm asking everyone on the team to send me their baby picture for us to guess name that baby. Our Executive Director sent me a baby pic, then...a her nude baby one!!! OMFG?!! I can't believe I saw that, TMI!!! Didn't she know or was it a joke? We are a small team and all close, but that was like WTF?!? I know it's natural, but it's still going to be awkward for me to know that I've seen it! :(

Im so afraid I'm ruining my 4yo's life with this stupid pandemic. He has only had 7 months of his whole life with other kids his age. I thought this would be over by now and I would be comfortable sending him back to school or doing regular playdates with someone, but nobody here follows guidelines or they lie about following them. He only has my 11yo, who is an ass to him most of the time bc he has tween attitude issues. I want to cry. Health and safety or mental health and social development and possibly die from covid long term effects of covid.

How effed up is this?? My very, very pro life MIL told me that she wished that her last pregnancy had ended in a miscarriage because she already had 4 kids. Like, wtf?? It's okay to pray for your baby to die, but not okay to legalize a procedure that may save a woman's life or peacefully terminate a baby that may never live on its own properly? Beyond EFFED UP.

Hi Hanginin! This is old, but I just found the confession. How's DD doing with the violin found her in grandpa's attic? I loved reading this since I'm thinking of picking up a violin again!

I think it says something about your parenting that they like school and want to be social with other kids. It's a testament to your parenting skills that they want to be independent. It's a good thing, even though it hurts.

I had two boys so I thought when I got pregnant again it would be another boy. I was happy with that because hey...I don't have to buy new things, I had it in my mind that it was going to be a boy. Even had boy names picked out so imagine my shock when the baby turned out to be a girl! I was a little scared because I had such a hard time as a teenager, just figuring out puberty and things. How would I relate to her? Now she is born and I love her but I know she will have a hard time. I just hope that when she wants to talk or needs advice, I can just be there for her. I didn't really have that growing up and I think it sort of formed my perception of being a woman. I didn't have the best examples. I want to be a good example for her
