I think your way is totally normal. That's what most people I know do.

My son has a wife and they have a baby. In my view, that means that I am no longer the most important mother in his life. Mother's day for me might just be a phone call, but he'd better do something really nice for his wife. Especially since the baby is too little to do anything herself. So I'm wondering, for those of you who might know- is this the normal way of things or am I an anomaly? I completely expect him to cater to his wife on Mother's day, not his mother. I mean, it makes sense doesn't it?

My sister in law was Face Timing with us for Mother's Day and I can just say one thing: I'm so glad I am not a mom. There's a reason I chose to not have kids. I really really just like that I can sleep in whenever I'm off work, don't have to deal with the screaming, sibling wars, and just general stuff that goes along with having kids. I know SIL loves her kids, but she also gets frazzled easily and she told me she envies people without kids sometimes. This is why I like that I just have nieces and nephews--I can enjoy them on my terms and give them back when I'm done.

I just found out I am pregnant and while I am delighted, I'm scared. With my sons, I started sewing blankets and bibs right away. I found out I was pregnant last year and started on a new quilt-I finished the giraffe's ears and started on its face only to have a miscarriage a week after finding out. This time I want to start on the baby's quilt and its little bibs but-I am scared. I don't want to start sewing, putting my hopes up only for them to be dashed. I am going to wait until I see an ultrasound, until I SEE the baby in me to start a project. Last year's quilt was finished and donated as a way to heal but this time I don't think I could start it until I know my baby will be ok. I won't even design the projects until I know and it hurts because I have been on guard, checking for blood and cramps. So far so good but...I'll just wait

I think this is just a troll. I really f*cking hope so because this is (if it's true) seriously messed up. And a call to CPS needs to be made. Clearly this kid has mental issues that the parent is not dealing with appropriately.

Wait, so you don't let her wash her nasty sheets except once a week?? Is that supposed to motivate her or something?? Holy crap, I think you both need therapy. Do you think maybe the dynamic you two have because of this is a factor in her not progressing?

This is a serious mental disorder, not a physical one. Perhaps it's time to get her some intensive inpatient therapy.

DD is 12 and still pooping her underwear every day. I swear me and her Drs have done everything we could to fix this. She can poop, she just doesn't want to. She admits she holds it in. She also "forgets" to wear pads on her period. I've tried rewards and punishments. Now my whole day is spent around panty checks and having her sit on the toilet several times a day. But as soon as she gets off it seeps into her underwear. Her room smells, I refuse to waste detergent on letting her wash her sheets and mattress protector every day (once a wk only) I'm having a nervous breakdown over it.

Buffets are nasty and I hope that if anything good comes out of this, it's that buffets get a major overhaul. I have seen kids dip spoons into the pudding on the buffet, take a bite, then dip the spoon back in and take another bite. Sorry but EWWW!!! They really need to supervise the buffets better and be way more diligent about getting rid of stuff that's been sitting out too long or that gets double dipped.

Look into diindolemethane (DIM). I think they sell it under the brand name Premarin. It’s a hormone analog that can help with the hormone spikes and dips. I’ve also had really good luck with Vitex (chasteberry).
