Responding to my own post. This guy. I swear to christ. This month he has six new employees that he didn't get a W4 for. Another restaurant owner has eight. No info on any of them. I guess everybody just gets withheld at single & zero! And nobody gets a W2! And my shit-heel clients just get to pocket these people's withholding. Cool cool. Oh and if they go to collect unemployment? Yeah, no. That's not happening. I don't know what else to do, they don't listen to me at all it's like talking to a brick wall. I had one guy rip me a new one and drop SEVERAL f-bombs on me because I suggested that he not write a check to any new employee without the proper paperwork. This whole job is just fucking futile. I should have gone to trade school. Learned to make stuff, use my hands.

One of my students received a visit from CPS today. He asked me to sit with him while he was interviewed by the social worker. At the end of the day, out of nowhere, he hugged me. This is a kid who has been cussing, fighting, and arguing with adults. When other kids are not around, he's a sweetheart. When kids are acting out, there is always a reason! They need for us to protect them and believe in them.

I'm fucking DONE. Every time I open my mouth with information I get another new responsibility. Every time I ask for help I am made to feel like shit. This is not a normal job. It can't be. It just can't. I've had some miserable shitty fucking jobs in my life none of them have had me feeling so fucking used.

I work in payroll in a really small town. One of my restaurant clients is notorious for NOT getting W4's from new employees. So I can't finish his tax work because I'm missing info on a new employee, so I set it aside and move on to the next client, another restaurant. And lo and behold, there's an actual W4 from the same girl. This is really pretty common that someone would work for more than one of my clients but what sucks ass is that I can't take that W4 and use the info to create her employee file for the other client. It's frustrating. That is all.

Maybe it felt aimed at teachers because a teacher posted about being exhausted. I said that I KNOW everyone is tired. I said that I respect those who were working with the public during the hardest time of the pandemic, especially nurses. My sister in law, who is a nurse, lost a cousin to covid because he was working as a nurse in a hospital without enough PPE. I know you guys took risks. I respect you more than anyone. But...who acted like they were God? I just said I'm a teacher and I'm tired. Like bone-weary tired. Like all of the paraprofessionals in my program are on sick leave and I just got two new students tired. Like breaking up fist fights tired. I'm not saying I'm more tired than anyone. I'm just saying I'm tired. Okay?

The post about the luxury of working at home wasn't aimed at just teachers, it was for anyone! I see they got bent out of shape as usual. You're not God so stop acting like it.

I'm running low on empathy for people who complain about working from home during the pandemic. Yes, I made the decision to become a nurse. I did not, however, sign up to become sacrificial to a corporation who "rewards" me with pizza parties and an ugly Vera Bradley blanket after being abused by the anti vaccine/mask crowd for over a year. Do you have any idea how many people I've watched DIE in the last year and a half? Essential workers (healthcare, retail, ANYONE who's been working with the public) have been put through hell that "work from home" people can't even imagine. Sucks about your desk, though. Glad you and your kids got to stay home and not be exposed to a deadly virus.

Don't get me wrong- I think that retail, restaurant, and package delivery people should have been vaccinated before teachers. We called them Essential Workers and then voted down a $15 minimum wage. Teachers are not the only people stressed out and tired, as I said in my original post. But if teaching is such a cake walk, why is there such a drastic shortage of qualified candidates? How many times have you been bitten at work? Zero? COME GET SOME OF THIS LUXURY!

LUXURY? AHAHAHAHAHA! It was a real LUXURY having to get rid of my nightstand so I could make a classroom out of the four foot space between my bed and my bathroom door. So much luxury buying and assembling a desk and office chair that I was not reimbursed for! It was really great having to figure out how to teach over Zoom while having parents watch me the whole time! The part where I was waking up during the night and vomiting from stress was super cool! LUXURY, LOL

How about anyone who actually went to work during this? We didn't have the luxury of staying home.
