People who are banning things that are bad for you, like smoking or transfats, are trying to keep you healthy so that they, the taxpayers, don't have to pay your medical bills. That would be a win - win. Been to an ER lately? My bill last year was $5,000 for an ER visit that lasted 3 hours and included every test under the sun. Those of us who make wise health choices are tired of paying for those who don't.

Article this morning: Adoptive parents are suing doctors for performing gender assignment surgery on their child while he was a toddler in foster care. (Before they adopted him.) The child had parts for both sexes, and hormone levels indicated male. However the penis was of course not average looking so they removed it and all the male organs and made the child 'female'. Fast forward to 10yrs old and the child identifies as male. What do you think? Should intersex babies be left as-is until they are old enough to choose a gender? Would it have been different if it were the parents that made the choice? Were the doctors in the wrong for trying to make the child look -physically- as normal as possible?

Target is getting rid of gender specific stuff - toys, but I think bedding too? People are outraged - they are saying it's clothes too - but that's an overreaction, it's not clothes.
