I have the next two Fridays off and I'll be spending those two days at the beach! Screw the housechores-it's not like I'm not going to clean over the weekend anyway! I need the time alone. I'll drop off my kids at school and I'll ride my bike at least 4 miles on the bike path and then I'll read some sort of trash book (and not a self help book!) while laying on the sand, under the sun for hours. I love my family, I have good kids/DH, but damn it..I give too much of myself to others and not enough for me-to me. Mom guilt sucks. I need to get over it; the kids are old enough now where they don't need me.

When my son was a newborn he napped for maybe 4 hours most days, between 2-3 naps. And because I did all the night time stuff with him when he napped I napped too. But about one day a week he would sleep almost 12 hours during the day. I did some house chores, and I'd do some stuff that I wanted to do... Read, puzzles... My husband knew how it was and if he really wanted something done he'd do it himself or wait until I got around to it. The only thing I did daily was the dishes. Dh was usually home to help keep ds busy but he was also perfectly happy on one of those playmats with stuff hanging over him to bat at.

We just regifted one of DD6's birthday presents to another friend. Even though DD was ok with it, the toy was in its original packaging and had never been taken out/played with, and the original giver and the current recipient don't know each other, I still feel bad about it. I just didn't have the money to buy yet another birthday present this week.

I can't act like Varsity parents are superior me (a JV parent). It's high school sports, people. In fact, it's the kids who are not in sports at all who are more likely to set the world on fire. I just rocked your world, right?

My all time favorite desert is Tiramisu. It's so hard to get a good one at restaurants. Recipes anyone???

Our DD4 Is a little under the weather and she's sleeping in, so DH and I had junk food for breakfast. We both had chips and ice cream.

My ten and twelve year olds pack their own lunches, and once a year (on their birthday) I bring them lunch from In-N-Out. I wish I could bring them lunch more often, but I teach at another school in their district so we all have the same schedule.

I spend a lot of time sincerely complimenting other kids. I need it to come back to me sometimes. Maybe I'd also like to hear some positive and supportive observations. This one-way generous love fest is about to come to an end. Don't be suprised.

Idk of it's everything... But my dh lies about really stupid little things that are easy to verify. An example... He told me before I went to work he'd take ds out to play because ds was getting stir crazy in the apartment. When I got home he told me about how he, gently, tossed ds into a pile of snow (some spots were 4-5 feet deep) and that ds had a blast digging/flailing his way out. I asked for pictures and got an "oh, I didn't think to take any..." Then asked where they did this, pure curiosity, and he said right out front of out building. No evidence whatsoever of this happening. All the snow in front and behind our building was undisturbed. What's the point of lying? It's not like I asked him to toss ds into the snow... Just take him out for a walk and some fresh air on a warm winter day...
