First off, we KNOW we're not going to see any money. Come on, when have we (citizens) ever? Secondly, please don't lump all Americans together if you can manage that. I know it's a tall order, but we're not all like that. I get why citizens of other countries might have that mentality but it's fallacious. Some of us are still sane.

The issues in Aghanistan go way, way beyond the US and the last 20 years. Britain has intervened before us, and so has Russia. But it's an impossibly complex problem to solve. First, we should stop even thinking of it as a country. Its borders were arbitrarily created by Britain. They mean nothing to the people who actually live there. Its topography is one of the most mountainous in the world, and there are only 50 miles of paved road in the whole country, so cities and their populations are largely isolated from each other, literally and figuratively. People think of it as a country like France or any other well-developed country, but it's not. No one there thinks of it that way. That's why there's no real Afghan military or government. And there never will be.

More selfish US jingoism. You started that war and basically leveled Afghanistan, did fuck all to rebuild and left a bunch of corrupt assholes to throw their country back to the wolves. Nobody wanted the US in Afghanistan in the first place, but you blazed in, Team America-ing everywhere as usual, the drunk, bullying uncle of the planet. Then, Biden ignores everybody including all his military advisors advice, and lets an entire country collapse. Women and children will be raped and murdered. Journalists and aid workers and doctors will get their heads hacked off. But who cares as long as you get your money back right? Well, I've got some news for you. You won't be seeing that money. It'll be getting pissed away between rich guys and politicians as always. And a terrorist organisation taking over *another* country that hates you doesn't exactly sound like it's going to lead to a peaceful, war and terror-attack free future.

I think Biden was right to pull out of Afghanistan, but the way he went about it was wrong. BTW, I'm pretty gosh darn liberal, but I'll admit that he didn't handle the situation well.

I think Biden was right to do what he did. Enough is enough. We focus on counterterrorism and humanitarian efforts. But also, focus back to us. 80trillion dollars could have gave us health care, and education! It’s too bad so many of our sons and daughters had to die or come home with debilitating injuries and PTSD for seemingly nothing. I don’t blame anyone except the military industrial complex. The war made a lot of people super wealthy.

Is Trump really going to blame Biden for Afghanistan when he released thousands of prisoners including the new Taliban member who has decided he is the new leader of the country? Don't get me wrong, I do think the Biden administration is pretty incompetent and have done a lot to make the situation worse, but there's a difference between incompetence and just an entire fucking shitshow like Trump. Also, when the US government going to fucking learn that every time they interfere with these countries, they leave things worse off? Anyone would think they're destabilizing that area of the world deliberately .... perish the thought.

The propaganda machine is about to get worse...all these floods and fires and straight up climate refugees, and a huge portion of the population thinks climate change is a conspiracy. Which is a double kick in the gut when you realise that the whole "climate change is a conspiracy" thing was actually started by Exxon...so these people basically believe a conspiracy of a conspiracy. Interestingly, it was also BP who came up with the carbon footprint...so they could lay all the blame at individual action on the part of the consumer while the big global companies doing all the damage continue to do damage. 24 patients admitted yesterday, which brings us to a total of 88 covid patients, so far. They are ALL not vaccinated. Every last one of them. Yes, we are absolutely tracking vaccination status. I keep telling myself it's not their fault. They were force fed misinformation by a propaganda machine. But it doesn't change the fact that if someone I love gets into a serious car accident, we, the largest hospital in the northeast region of the state, can't accommodate them in the ICU. All because someone did their "research" on YouTube and Facebook.

If your kid was able to get vaccinated, but you chose not to, and they get sick, the parents should be criminally charged with medical negligence. I'm tired of the bullshit. People choosing to believe YouTube over the entiretey of the medical community need to be held criminally responsible at this point. And if someone needs to quaratine and miss work because you exposed them or their kid to COVID due to your complete disregard for anyone other than yourself, they should be allowed to sue you for lost wages...and any medical bills if they get sick.
