I've lost respect for someone who is choosing to not get vaccinated. He says he's not anti-vaccinated, but respects his choice to choose. His choice right now is to not get the shot. Sounds selfish to me. What are your thoughts?

Does anyone else find it ironic that the people who are most upset about the new mask mandates the same people who are responsible for them?

Hospitals should set aside a certain percentage of ICU beds for unvaccinated (by choice) COVID patients. When those are full, any new unvaccinated COVID patients need to find somewhere else that still has some of those beds available. If there are none, oh well. ICU beds in my city, in a very red state, are full of COVID patients again, 95% of whom are unvaccinated. They are having to send accident victims and such to hospitals in other cities. Nope. Should not be doing that. They should unplug one of the Spreadnecks and send them somewhere else. If they don't make it, then that's too bad. But we'll send them thoughts and prayers.

I thought I'd never hear a "solution" so absurd as Trump's UV and bleach insertion covid cure until the new UK climate minister suggested we can save the planet by not rinsing our dishes "before we put them in the dishwasher." Sure Jan. I also heard we can cure all the cancer by taking some aspirin.

Believe me, vaccinated patients are having a very different experience with covid. We currently have 7 covid patients (we're expecting more. Our county just went back into the yellow) and only one is vaccinated. The only reason she's admitted is because of her copd. What I'm getting at is that vaccinated people are typically not being admitted. They are the ones with the mild flu-like symptoms. There's a reason Fox news, just last week, started encouraging vaccinations. Their base is about to experience heavy losses from the variant. As a nurse, I can't take another year like 2020. People crying in their ICU beds, asking for the vaccine, now that they're infected and their 02 sat is dropping. I can't do it anymore. I didn't go to school to watch people die because they watched a propaganda video on YouTube.

It's not exaggerated in the least. No, none of them have died or are hospitalized. None of the unvaccinated who got Covid in the beginning have died or been hospitalized either. In fact, the ones that I know of had either no symptoms or the symptoms were similar to a cold. Unvaxxed and Vaxxed have the same experiences, but only the Vaxxed keep getting it. As I said, the Vaxxed took off their masks and are just spreading it to each other. Numbers can be vastly different in different areas for various reasons. Most of these guys work together, live together, and hang out together, so they're together almost 24/7.

I kind of think this is a bit exaggerated. My (major) city just released new numbers. Only 333 out of the 670,000 tpeople who are vaccinated got COVID or 0.000497%. So 333 of the 34,000 people who tested positive during the same time were vaccinated or 0.0098%. Yet your husband's base has an outbreak among vaccinated peoople. But I'll play along. So they got COVID 3 times? Hmm, all the anti-vaxxers say if you've had COVID, you have immunity. It's almost like the anti-vax folks don't know what they're talking about. And you didn't say anything about any of the vaccinated folks with COVID dying or being hospitalized, so it's almost like it is still offering some protection. And I'm assuming that not even one single person on that base died from the vaccine. The anti-vaxxers have told me people are dropping dead left and right from it.

DH works on a small military base. Covid is breaking out so they're being left short-handed. Their command is keeping track of who is getting it. It's almost all the vaccinated people. For some of them, this is their 3rd time getting it. Only a couple unvaccinated got it toward the beginning of the pandemic, but haven't gotten sick since. I'm guessing the vaccinated are the ones getting Covid because they've been allowed to go without a mask. The vaccine does not stop anyone from spreading or getting Covid, so going without a mask doesn't make any sense. Now DH has to work late to cover for all the selfish people who stopped wearing their masks just because they got the vaccine.

This is not directed at anyone here. I haven't even read any confessions in months but came here solely to post this. And I'm not sure how much good this will do, but I'm going to try anyway. Here goes. Please don't assume. About people. I'm hard core pro mask. Won't get the covid vaccine. Also Republican. And female. And Asian. I don't go around trumpeting this to anyone IRL but want to put this out there so maybe fewer people will assume things.

Any unbiased definitions and in depth conversations about critical race theory? I can find heavily biased articles from both conservatives and liberals, but nothing explaining what it actually is and whether or not it's good or bad.
