Thats because he is just going through the motions and it doesn't mean anything to him. He does it because you expect /demand it of him and he doesn't want to let you down. That means something.

I got my DH a bunch of RainX wipes that I'm going to make into a bouquet, his favorite candy, a steak dinner, and a card. The RainX wipes are for his car because he's always talking about how he should put it on the windows but he would never think to buy it for himself. I don't expect anything over the top, but I like when a gift is thoughtful.

Yeah, I get it, I'm an unappreciative bitch, right? It's not that I don't appreciate what he gets me, but it would be nice to get flowers that last more than 2 hours and a card that maybe actually says something that he wrote instead of "From DH". I feel like he's just doing it to go through the motions and it doesn't mean anything.

I love reading these confessions about loving alone time. I always felt like I was weird because I crave that quiet time in my house when everyone is gone. Glad it's not just me!

I don't like Valentines Day very much. I'm always disappointed. It's not even V-day and I'm already disappointed. I told dh that I wanted good chocolates, like Godiva. I don't care if it's a box of five chocolates vs a whole bag of lesser chocolates. I want the good stuff. Ds told me he bought me Dove chocolates. Sigh. It's like he doesn't even listen to me.

I think (and I hope) that dh only has two more weeks on this local project before he goes on the road again. My God. I worked Fri and Sat, and today from 11:30-4:30. When I left today he was watching SoA on Netflix. When I got back he was still watching it - even through dinner (but thankfully he cooked, lol). It's 10pm and he's still watching it. I STILL haven't had any time to myself. I was looking forward to tomorrow but it turns out that I have to call the electric company for a mistake on the bill, drop off one car at the mechanic and pick up the other, have an office meeting at 1 (he'll be home at 3) and a client meeting at 5. Tuesday. I'll get some me time on Tuesday. I hope...

I'm almost 46 years old. Been in a dead end marriage for a long time/26 years. We used to love each other. My confession? I don't think I'll ever be loved by a man like I should be.

Looks like another shitty Valentine's Day this year. I bet $20 DH will totally forget until Tuesday and then go get me a sad bouquet of discount roses from the grocery store, an overpriced lame card from the grocery store (because he won't have time to pick out a good one), and maybe if I'm lucky some chocolates. I love him, but romance is always a nice thing.

My DH is gone for work sometimes, too. I LOVE it. I'm a quiet person and he's a loud person. I like my quiet time. I miss him, but I do get a lot done without him around.

My DH travels for business and I love it. He's a great guy but extremely high energy and being around him all the time can exhaust me. Having him out of the house for a week or two lets me get stuff done
