I was with an elderly relative today when we ran into an old friend of mine. I introduced them, and my relative asked if he goes by Rich or Dick. He said it doesn't matter, and she said 'you look like a Dick.' We laughed so hard, and she couldn't understand what was so funny.

If anyone saw Dr. Phil yesterday, the jerkoff that they had on that show is a lot like my DH. As Dr. Phil said: "Wow, do you know how much fun you are to live with?" My DH can be a really tightlaced prick about things like money.

I still wonder if my hs BF of 7 years was "the one"..I've been happily married to someone else for 15 years but I still think/have dreams about this ex. He lives across the country and have had no contact at all with him. I tell myself if we truly are soulmates and its meant to be then the universe will reunite us someday...

My DH will act like a twat to me all day long and then magically expect me to want sex that night. Uh, no. Doesn't work that way, DH.

DH left for work at 3:30am for some overtime work. I love sleeping with him and usually I toss and turn when he has to leave like this, but wow, I slept so good without him in the bed with me I actually slept over 2 hours before I normally wake up. Sorry honey! I still missed you when I woke up!

In response to a confession. If my DH died, I would get a $3 Million life insurance policy. I think I would be OK financially for a while on that. I also have a graduate degree and working history. Like another poster said, my name is on everything. I know how much money is in every account we have and have access to it all, the terms of our mortgage, do our taxes, and run our credit reports every year (including DH's). We also have short-term and long-term disability insurance. Outsiders see SAH me, married to an executive, living in a nice house, driving a nice car, and automatically assume I'm screwed if something happens. Um, no. I'm not. And if he tried to leave, trust me, he'd be the one who gets screwed.

Nobody said SAHM are stupid! The point is, you have to be able to support yourself and your children without the benefit of a second party. It just makes sense to not put yourself and your children in a position of being stuck in a bad spot because of money. It is something you need to plan for and arrange to the best ability with the options available before having kids. What if the other person died? Too often it seems that women (mostly) have kids and just assume the other party will help pay for it all. Then something goes wrong and they are stuck.

I'm the OP with the hoarder DH. I found an ad for a flea market this weekend. I told DH he should get a vendor spot and take a lot of his junk--uh, stuff--up there to sell off. He agreed and what doesn't sell is going to the thrift store. I hope he sells some of it and makes a little money, but honestly I'm just glad he's getting rid of stuff.

I caught my ex in a lie! He was complaining on how he's been working for 2 months straight, 7 days a week but gets every 3rd weekend off. And that he's working so many hours he barely has time to eat. So I'm like... "oh then you should be able to pay some of your back support that you owe", then he switched and said "No, I'm only getting 40 hours a week." Ok, so your job, where you're a foreman, gave you a company truck to drive 4 states away to live in a hotel for a few months...only to make you work 5.5 hours a day? I smell BS! He knows that I quickly catch on and call him out on his lies. He did what he always does when I call him out on his lies...he ignores me.
