
If my DH died, I would get a $3 Million life insurance policy. I think I would be OK financially for a while on that. I also have a graduate degree and working history. Like another poster said, my name is on everything. I know how much money is in every account we have and have access to it all, the terms of our mortgage, do our taxes, and run our credit reports every year (including DH's). We also have short-term and long-term disability insurance. Outsiders see SAH me, married to an executive, living in a nice house, driving a nice car, and automatically assume I'm screwed if something happens. Um, no. I'm not. And if he tried to leave, trust me, he'd be the one who gets screwed.
