More on sabotaging CW (SCW from now on). Boss suggested I lock up the files at nite. I did, and no more issues. Except one nite I stayed late, and was in a rush to get home. Came in the next morning, and a file was missing. Meantime, boss brought on new team members, which she and other CW were not happy with - literally said they didn't want them to join because they wanted all the leads to themselves. 2wks after one guy started, SCW went off on him - screaming that his opinion was wrong, even though he's had years of experience in that area of work. Other CW is so high strung she flips if something can't get done right away, then apologizes.Flipped bc I couldn't get something for her, when the person I needed it from was not available and not answering emails. But complained to boss about ME not getting it. I've heard no one stays in my position for long bc of "personality conflicts." You don't say...

I had my interview today for being a wastewater treatment operator. They gave me an oral test on how the plant works...I was not ready for that. I think I got most of the answers right, but hey, they probably are looking for someone who has more than just academic knowledge of how things work.

I went from salary to hourly when the law changed awhile back and was mad about it. Now we have a very demanding director who wants shit done and I'm approved for all the overtime I need to get that shit done. Without the exempt law I would've been working overtime on salary and now I'm making time and a half. Awesome! I'm empowered to do a lot and get paid for it. Anyone else moved from hourly to salary? What is your experience?

I kind of miss my old office. It's closer to home, and the people were nicer. But I DON'T miss the constant collections. It's Admin Day. It's Boss' Day. It's the Admin's birthday. It's the Boss' birthday. This person is pregnant, that one had a baby. And the tragedies. Just so weird for an office of ~130! So many family/spouse deaths, accidents, fires, etc., it was unreal. My new office has over 400, and there's not been one collection or tragedy in the 5 months I've been there.

I work nights and i like it for the most part. the pace is slower, i don't have to deal with a lot of annoying CWs or mgmt (it's only me and one other person at night), and I get paid more. but i think i may have to go back to days. i've been doing nights for about 3 years and i can tell it's taking a toll on my health. I've gained a lot of weight, am constantly sleep-deprived no matter how much sleep i get (daytime sleep just isn't as restorative as nighttime sleep), and it's hard to have a social life. i think it may be worth the hassle and pay cut to not feel sluggish, blah, and run down all the time.

Dude, I just had a representative from the Social Security Administration ask ME what a W2C form is. My question: Will you guys accept a W2C on regular copy paper and black ink, or do I need a pre-printed form? ..... Her answer: What's a W2C? ... I swear to Christ... I don't even ... *headdesk*

In response to a confession. People are not shaking hands because they don't want to get the flu. Makes sense.

So I was at this job fair on Saturday. One of the reps there works with a bunch of area companies as sort of a head hunter. He talked with me for like 20 minutes on Saturday and asked for my resume. He called me today and said by getting to know me a bit, he feels very comfortable touting me to at least 3 local companies that are hiring. He said he can help me touch up my resume and feels confident he can land me a job by May. I'm so excited!!

Babysitting lawyers all day is extremely stressful You'd think that after 22 years I'd KNOW that.
