So frustrating! We moved here in 2010 and I'm on my 5th PCP, and now I just read that he's leaving his practice, too. I always end up having to go to the Urgent Care, where the copay is double. I'm just going to have to go back to my old doctor, nearly an hour away. He's been at the same place since the 90s!

Billionaires are just serial killers with a more impressive body count. Think about singlehandedly having the resources to positively change the course of the entire planet on a big structural issue like global hunger, education or climate change, but instead choosing to hoard your wealth. Then even creepier, act as though you're still the saviour of humanity by indulging in your 80s scifi geek fantasies about getting us all to Mars just in time to avoid the apocalypse caused by people like YOU in the first place. These people are more powerful than entire countries in themselves and that is absolutely terrifying, especially when they all basically think of themselves as Tony Stark level super geniuses...IDK, but I remember a whole lot of explosions and planet ending wars in those movies.

If I were stupid rich, I wouldn't be sending other rich people on space adventures. I would be paying off the GoFundMe accounts for everyone who can't afford their kid's surgery. I would be picking up the tab for the marching band at an underprivileged school so they could go to the big competition - and then I would buy them new instruments and pay for college for all of them. I would fulfill the wishlist of every damn family who can't afford to give their kids' a Christmas this year. If there is a God, I hope He has created a special Billionaire Hell for all those selfish assholes who choose to treat people like shit, hoard half of the world's cash, and take sighseeing tours of space instead.

In the last month my primary care doc left her practice, my daughter's primary car doc left her practice, my ob/gyn stopped taking my insurance, and my daughter's specialist's - the only one in our city - next appointment is 2 months from now. I had labs done right before my primary doc left. No one has reviewed them. It's been months. My daughter's primary doc was supposed to call in labs but never did, and now she's gone. No idea if my labs are OK (they were done for a reason). Daughter is having issues related to a medical condition. We need to see someone to determine the cause, if medication changes are needed, etc. But no labs were done, her doctor left, and her specialist can't see her for months. Yay, American healthcare system.

I whole heartedly and 100% support the trans community. But as someone who works with high school kids, I can also say that a lot of kids are coming out as trans who aren't truly trans. My first thought is, so what? Who cares if a kid wants to go by a different name or pronouns. And kids can wear whatever they feel comfortable with. It doesn't affect anyone else, so anyonoe who has a problem with it can just move along. But I am seeing a lot of kids come our as trans, and then a couple of years later regret it. They no longer want to go by their chosen name and want to dress as their assigned gender. But they are too ashamed to go back. So they are stuck either feeling embarassed and like a fraud or going along with their chosen gender until they are out of high school, which causes a whole new set of issues. I don't know how to help them.

I splurged and made myself a facial appt for this past friday. The whole day felt wrong, like something was trying to tell me not to do it. Of course, I did it anyway and guess what? I'm on day 2 of an allergic reaction. My eyes are nearly swollen shut. Smh. Idk when I'm going to learn to listen to my instincts.

My H and I were talking about a friend, and I mentioned I hope they announce their engagement soon so I can work on a wedding ring quilt for them. I adore making quilts for people. And he said, "not everyone is excited about quilts. Most people dont like them at all." And it really hurt my feelings. Like, I don't care if they throw it away or donate it, it's just something I genuinely enjoy spending my time doing? It makes me happy. Why does he have to be such a dick about things I enjoy that are different from the "norm"?

Before the pandemic, I basically had a buzz cut. A year and half later, my hair is past my shoulders. For the past several months, I've actually had to brush it! I recently realized that I have been avoiding the brush because DH has oily hair, and he NEVER cleans out the brush. Every time I go to use it it needs cleaning, and often washing. I just realized today there is a $25 solution to my growing resentment. I just ordered a nice brush on Amazon. Why do I never think to throw money at a problem? It also took me a year of DH complaining about back problems before realizing we could just buy a comfortable couch. We are both so used to living a minimalist lifestyle that we forget that buying things is sometimes the easiest fix.

My hemoglobin is 7.3. I slept 14 hours yesterday. I need an iron infusion but my insurance is still deciding if it’s covered. FML

For once in my life I want to be thin. Like scary thin. I want to know what it feels like for people to be worried I'm too small rather than deal with their faux health concerns about me being too big.
