You know what really turns my stomach? The phrase "daddy issues." Can someone tell me why women get blamed for having shitty fathers? Is there anything we don't get blamed for? IDK, for some reason whenever I heard that phrase it totally grosses me out, but then it's probably just a general awareness that loads of men deliberately look for women they perceive as being unstable or whatever because they can mess them around.

A Small Happy Thing- My favorite restaurant has been closed since Covid. It's remote and very special, with a farm to table menu, family-style American fare & pre-Prohibition cocktails served in circa-1897 digs with period decor. I didn't think they would survive the pandemic. I checked their website on a whim and they are taking reservations. I booked a table for New Year's Eve. I know it's different in other parts of the country but we have been so locked down here. I'm so grateful this place still exists. I'm happy.

Went for my B-12 shot and happened to run into my doc. I asked for a few minutes, then we discussed bone marrow biopsy. She said my iron issues are due to advanced kidney disease and a biopsy isn’t indicated. She wants to start me on ProCrit injections next month and expects to see an uptick in all my labs. My hemoglobin right now is higher than it’s been since 2016 (11.1, btw), so maybe we’re heading in the right direction.

Dear Almost Everyone that I've ever commented "Good job, it looks great!" on your craft project: I lied. You didn't do a good job. It looks like hot garbage. There's zero chance I would ever display or wear whatever it is you made... .. All that said, I will 100% continue to tell you that you did a good job and it looks great. Because you're being creative and having fun and that's what counts. And if you keep on going, eventually you will get better and better and at some point, I'll mean it when I say "Good job, it looks great!" Meanwhile, I'll just be supportive of your hot garbage projects. Because we've ALL made them.

My dh has his vasectomy tomorrow. I'm equal parts relieved and anxious about it. I've had 2 c sections, and wouldn't have complained about a hysterectomy or tubal, but he insisted on doing this himself. He says I've had enough surgeries and this is less invasive. But I just wish I was doing it. I feel really bad about it, but also not. If that makes any sense.

My dh and I happened to be outside tonight when the Starlink spacex satellite passed above us. We we wondering if we'd just witnessed a UFO until I did some research and we figured out what it was. Pretty cool though.

Christmas is my favorite season usually, but not even the kids are into it this year! It's making it hard to get through.

DH insisted on putting up Christmas decorations on November 30th (which is WAY too early), but afterwards I sat in the dark and admired the lights on the tree and thought there may be hope that I'll get in the Christmas spirit. Today I said I wanted to see a house nearby that's got millions of lights with a radio station that synced music and the lights. We went tonight. I was like a kid! I video'd s bunch of stuff, took lots of pics, ooo'd and ahhh'd and knew I had a big smile on my face. I turned to say something to DH and he was staring out his car window bored to tears. I got so pissed and told him to take me the f home. Anyone who knows me (and he's known me for 38 years!) knows that Christmas lights are the best thing to put me in the Christmas spirit. And he was too bored to even pretend! It's December first, and I am SO over Christmas!

My husband refuses to puke in the toilet because he doesn't want his face in the toilet when he's feeling sick. That's fine but the toilet flushes and the sink doesn't. We've been married for 21 years and we do not agree on this. It hasn't been a big deal because he cleans up after himself, but I don't get it.

Riddle me this: why would a 67-year-old man, when he suddenly felt ill, run for the bathroom to throw up, step around the toilet, and puke in the sink??? #imnotcleaningthatup!
