The humidity in my house is 79%, it's 95F out but the heat index is 115. AC is on 71 but it won't go lower than 75. My landlord had a cheap central air system put in, so it does not help with the humidity at all, in fact it sweats out of the vents & along the ceiling there is water spots. Inside feels more like 90 than 75. H thinks I did something to the digital thermostat to make it hotter in here. I told him no I didn't, what he is feeling is the humidity cus yesterday it was 52% inside, now it's 79%. He said "Well you did something cus I notice the difference". I told him "No I didn't, you don't understand the difference in humidity % is why you feel hotter" He slammed his fists on the table and yelled "You don't need to repeat yourself! All I know is you did something to it!" and walked out of the room. Also, our windows are like 70 years old and leak so bad even dirt flies in (they're closed). Since he's a jerk I'm not cooking the chicken parm he's been anxiously waiting for.

He helped jumpstart some deep healing for my inner child who finally got to explore more joy, play, self-expression, and creativity. And my current self started to trust and feel safe around another man, always felt intellectually curious and stimulated, and was open to exploring another dynamic. But it got complicated because I also saw him like the wise older brother I never had when joking around with ease. I have a younger brother, but distant from him, so perhaps I was looking to mend that. It got confusing since first met as a teacher-student dynamic, then exploring mentor/brother/friend/other roles. I was getting too attached. This space to recalibrate is good, but I didn't think would miss him this much.

We had a really good honest talk about healthy boundaries today. I personally felt like I was getting too attached to him and neglected things at home since I was wrapped up in his world. He didn't feel that I was getting too attached which was good. But while I have loved and haven't felt this type of deep connection with a good man in a LONG time, I actually asked if we could back off a bit. It started to get too gray area for me with me seeing I'm in different environments and roles (friend/mentor,etc.) We've been texting daily for about a month now and have had a few phone calls in between and I think I started to develop a crush on him. We just had a super honest chat and he shared with me his thoughts and feelings very openly. He respects my decision and we both decided to take space to recalibrate. He's a really good man, but I need to really focus on my life right now.

We had our second phone call today and it went way over. We laughed, made jokes and affirmed that we both are enjoying being in each other's lives and have been really surprised by the connections made. It feels very genuine honest, open, and exploratory. A tiny voice in the back of my head wonders if it's too good to be true? Am I getting too attached to him or is this healthy? Hard when I've only had unhealthy examples in my life, but I'll trust and listen to my gut.

I woke up today with a huge sense of relief. Maybe this blowout needed to happen since I felt like our values weren't aligning anymore and it was not the friendship I needed. I have more space for my real friends - the loving, honest, empathetic, playful, and compassionate ones.

I knew I had to end it when she started assassinating my character. I never once called a name and she started gas lighting. I won't stand for someone this unstable and unsafe, but wow, it became really vicious in a quick moment.

I know he sounds like a hoarder. He definitely has those tendencies. He did a good job of making some room down there but I don't think he got rid of anything. I ordered two sets of shelves to start really organizing. I'm going to get big Sterilite bins and start getting stuff up off the ground, put things in some kind of logical order. I'm going to get rid of stuff. Period. I opened a drawer and it was full of random crap. I am going to show him the drawer and ask him what he wants to keep. I don't know where I read this, but I liked it- if you look at something you are on the fence about, ask yourself if you would buy it for $10. If the answer is no, get rid of it!

One of my dearest friends just got engaged. I know she really wanted that, so I am doing my best to be happy for her. But her future husband is an arrogant ass, and I am not looking forward to seeing him for the rest of our lives. And yes, she recognizes that he is an arrogant ass, but she really want to be married before she turns 50, and feels like this is her last chance. I think we are going to see a lot of this coming out of the pandemic. Many single people suffered living alone, and I think this is going to make them more vulnerable to settling for a spouse because they think that will be better than what they just went through. But as a (single) friend of mine said last year - the only thing worse than isolating by yourself is isolating with someone you don't want to be around.
